Design the set for a play. You must choose and read a play (one act or full length) and based on your discoveries conceive a basic conceptual set design approach for the action. This project should include not only written descriptions, but also visual research (photographs, paintings, illustrations by OTHER artists) and/or drawings, renderings of your own – that YOU make, scan and post on to your Blog. This option should include at least (300 words of written description and at least 10 visual images ).

Set Design for A Doll's House: By Amanda Olmstead
This is an image of the exterior of a house designed in an 1870's style. I would like to make the back flat with the hexagonal shaped window, with a window seat.
Floor Plan of Set: This is the floor plan of the set, from an aerial view and how I would like all the furniture placed.
Flat: Iwould like the back of the stage to have a flat for he wall of the Helmer Residence. I would like the Color to be either a crimson or a tan color with the window in the back. I would also like an angled tab to be attached to the back flat. This flat will have a door and a window on it.
Colors: The colors will be very rich, dark tones. A lot of crimsons, dark greens, golds, tans, and browns will be used.
Accessories: I would also like to add some books, knickknacks, rugs, throw pillows, and a wall painting to add to the design.
The door: This is a very big piece in the set, for it stands for so much at the very end of the show. It is very important that this door stand out above the rest of the back flat. Having a very elegant door with the window next to it, I believe will help draw the focus at the very end of the play. I would like the door to look a lot similar to this one, but on a smaller scale.
